It’s fall and for many brides it’s the time of year for a fall wedding! Generally people who pick fall weddings love that time of year when it’s not so hot and leaves are changing colors. But this is also the time of year when you see pumpkins everywhere and incorporating them into your October wedding can be a lot of fun.

Whether you paint pumpkins, carve them or just leave them as they are, they can be a cool addition.
There are some great DIY projects with pumpkins that are easy and fun to do! Here are a few ideas:
1. If you cut the top off of your pumpkin and clean out the inside you can:
~ Put a candle in it (either buy larger candles, smaller pumpkins or both and put them together!)
If you use the smaller pumpkins you can also put a glass hurricane over the top for some added elegance
~ Fill with flowers
~ Fill with ice and drinks
~ Fill with your programs
~ Fill with candy (do multiple and you can have a candy bar!)
2. You can paint your pumpkins white or other colors to match the colors in your wedding
3. You can have multiple carved pumpkins around, there are many stencils online you can download from Disney characters to flowers
You might even think about having your initials or your wedding date carved with an elegant stencil
4. You can buy tall glass vases and fill them with the small pumpkins
5. You can use them as an aisle runner having many of them lined up side by side down the aisle
6. If you buy the little pumpkins you can use them as place card holders by simply cutting a slit in the stem and sticking the card in it or writing right on the pumpkin

If you really like the idea of pumpkins you can carry the theme throughout your wedding serving pumpkin spiced lattes, pumpkin bread, pumpkin cake!
