Chalk Boards Not Just For School Anymore

Everyone remembers the soft yet dusty white chalk and the smooth black board many teachers used in school.  But most people wouldn’t think of a chalk board when planning something as formal as a wedding.  If you take the idea and incorporate it throughout the entire wedding, you can really make a statement!

This idea is perfect for an outdoor garden type wedding but with the right touches can be the perfect details for ANY wedding!

 

 

  Place Cards

     Write their name and table number on a small piece or write everyone’s name on a giant one

 Place Mats 

     Either write the guest’s name on it as a place card or leave it blank with their own chalk to doodle with

Table Numbers

It’s as simple as putting it in the middle of the table with the table number.  If you have some talent you doodle around the sides as well!

 

Menu

     Either small chalk boards at the tables with the entire menu or if you are having a buffet  you can mark each dish

 Signs guiding your guest to the wedding

Use a bigger chalk board and put them in places to guide your guests from ceremony to cocktails to reception

 

  Candle Votives

     This is a great DIY project with some clean glass votives, chalk board spray paint, supplies for safety and clean up.  You could put simple words, table numbers, names or just doodle.

 General Decor

     Different sized chalk boards in various places (present table, cake table, ect…) with simple words like

     “Love”, “Marriage”, “Respect”, “Fate”, “Wife”, “Husband”, “Honeymoon”, “Joy”, “Happiness”, “Trust” , “You + Me”

 

 

You can even buy chalkboard spray paint to on almost any surface!
