When it comes to weddings, tradition has it that you pick your favorite store and set up a registry for your guests to use. It’s easy for them and you generally get the things you want! But often times you may not know exactly what you want or need and may wonder through Bed Bath & Beyond or Target clueless. I wanted to offer some tips today on the basic things you should consider when you head off to the store!
~ Bath Towels
This your chance to get those big, fluffy bath towels in matching colors. From here you can also get a few hand towels and washcloths to
match for your bathroom.
~ Shower Curtains & Bath mats
If you and your new husband are just moving in together or just buying your first house together these are things you will definitely need
but maybe didn’t think of for your wedding registry
~ Rugs
Whether you are just moving in together, buying a new house or redecorating you might consider an area rug, or smaller rugs for the areas
by doors.
~ Dishes
If you are like most people getting married, you have come together with a variety of dishes you collected through college in many colors,
sizes and shapes, so this is your chance to have all new matching dishes in the same sizes! Usually you get dinner plates, smaller plates, bowls, Glassware, Silverware and other serving dishes. Make sure you register for more than you think you will need because then you have enough for multiple guests and an expanded family.
~ Pots/Pans
This is a good opportunity register for your pots and pans separately as opposed to in a set. This way you can make your own set and your
guests can just buy you one or two pieces at a time. Since sets don’t always have the exact sizes you may want you can pick this way.
~ Table Cloth, Napkins & Napkin Rings
Even if you don’t have a formal dining room with a table set up, these will come in handy the first time you decide to host a dinner. Depending on your lifestyle you might also consider these items in an outdoor version for patio entertaining.
~ Mixing Bowls
Make sure you ask for mixing bowls in a variety of sizes and if you do a lot of cooking ask for several so you have them for easy use. You will also want to make sure you look for mixing bowls that are microwave safe!
~ Kitchen Utensils
There are so many kitchen utensils you can buy at these stores and things you may forget but wish you had later! It is usually a good idea
to register for more than one of these items if you have the room too because they are things you may use often and it will be handy to have
more than one!
* Spoons *Garlic Press *Measuring Cups *Potato Peeler
*Spatulas *Strainer *Cheese Grater *Pizza Cutter
*Can Opener *Measuring Spoons *Wine Bottle Opener *Timer
*Tongs *Ice Scream Scoop *Cutting Board *Whisk
One of the biggest mistakes brides make while doing their registry is not having a variety of pricing in the things they pick. You want to have some lower priced items and some more expensive items. This gives your guests more options and makes it easier on them!
Here is a fun item for today’s Wedding Registry Monday!
