She-N-He recently did a wedding at the beautiful Barr Mansion in Austin Texas! I wanted to share this wedding because of how beautiful it was and yet so simple. Green orchids and white calla lilies with hints of purple made up the bride’s bouquet. They carried over the white calla lilies to the centerpieces at the reception with simple green bottles and moss. Along with the earthy feel they also had a beautiful brown 3-tiered cake with green ribbon accents. Her bridesmaids wore green as well and carried bundles of flowers with purple and hints of green to round out the colors. Thank you to Melanie from She-N-He Photography for sharing this wedding and their beautiful images with us!

The beautiful bride shared her information and some planning with Melanie from She-N-He Photography and we thought we would share her words! From the bride herself:
Our caterer was a company called Spice of Life Catering out of San Antonio. We went to a bunch, but the choice was pretty easy once we met Chef Mike. (http://www.spiceoflifesa.com/)
The flowers were all done by Amy Collins, who is also the owner and coordinator at the Gardens of Cransbury. She did flowers (as well as a whole lot of other wedding-related business) before she opened her own venue last year. It’s a very cool story that my family who is friends with the Collin’s got to witness as it was all in progress. (amy@cranesburyview.com)
James McCombs, a good friend of ours from TCU, made the cake and has made countless others…. mmmm. Chocolate and raspberry… my fav!!! Did you know it’s low fat even- he has the Weight Watchers points for it….seriously! I never would have guessed….(james.r.mccombs@gmail.com)
Andrew’s aunt collaborated with us and printed all our stationary items, which turned out WONDERFULLY! She’s just getting into the biz, so I think it was a learning process for us both. I had a ton of fun working on all that stuff with her. (deborah.gutierrez@aon.com)
The sound system at the reception was Andrew’s, run by our friend (and groomsmen), Justin. Andrew’s getting a DJ business up and running, which is WAY fun! My husband was made to play music and entertain, so if you know anyone looking for a GREAT (yes, I’m partial, but it’s true) DJ, he’s you’re man. He had a gig actually on our weekiversery (?) which went swimmingly

Found the bridesmaid dresses on sale at J. Crew last fall. The sashes were made my my step-mom, Laura.
For the centerpieces: Got the wine bottles at a nearby restaurant, Huisache Grill, that let us take as many as we wanted.
The silver patters I found on a restaurant supply website. The lime holders were Andrew’s aunt Debby’s, and the rest we just kinda improvised on til we liked how it looked.
Picked out the groomsmen’s ties and the b-maid’s pearls (which were a Black Firday steal) to give to them as gifts. Asked the g-men to wear their own black suits. Loved the coordinated, but not matchy-matchy-ness of this.
Made the unity candle and taper candle (plus 2 extra tapers- they break easily!) with candles, ribbon and glue from Hobby Lobby. Same with the ring “pillow” box, which I Mod Podge’d (is that a word?) over. Oh, and we covered over corny quotes on 2 sides of it with matching scrapbook paper. Also made the letters that were on the backs of our chairs with materials from Hobby Lobby…
Most all the b-maids and myself had our hair and makeup done at Felger and Friends. Tammy, our hairstylist, has done my hair since…well, forever…. and opened the salon just for us that day! Saturday we also took a trip to The Retreat (New Braunfels) to get our nails done. I had never had a pedicure before, and LOVED it!
I got my veil, dress and shoes at Belle Saison Bridal in Austin, which is now were I refer EVERYONE. HUGE selection, and awesome people to work with! The garter is from The Garter Lady on Etsy. The hair flower and hair pins were from Celebrations Bridal in New Braunfels…. bought, oh, a few days prior when we realized the ones I had ordered from an online vendor just were NOT coming in. All the pashmina shawls were bought by mom (who I just realized I’m not giving nearly enough credit to for all she did!!!!) somewhere online, and I got my clutch at DSW.
My grandma did most of my dress alterations, just had it taken in a little by Linda at Perfect Fit Bridal Alterations up here in the DFW area. I HIGHLY recommend her!
A’s suit was from none other than Men’s Warehouse.
Dang he looks good in it….
While the details were fun, the people and oneness with my husband are the things that really made the day. To future brides, enjoy the season of engagement and marriage preparation, don’t stress over details, and have fun! There’s no other time like it!
